Dennis van den Brink of Brink Stables is active in the purchase and sale of horses, ranging from foals and young prospects to hunters, equitation horses, and top-level jumpers. Some horses are kept to develop further in the sport before being sold. This wide variety is also reflected in the horses he brings to Dutch Horse Trading—but one thing always takes priority: quality.
"For us, quality starts with sharpness over the jump," says Dennis. "Carefulness, agility, balance, conformation, blood, alert ears, and—just as important—the horse's eye. These are the things every horse dealer looks for. And the more boxes a horse ticks, the better. Then it's our job to guide that horse in its career—sometimes for just a month, sometimes for several years. That's where the satisfaction lies, both as a horseman and a professional."
Joining Dutch Horse Trading was a natural step. "We've known Niels Fabrie and Amber Fijen (the founders of Dutch Horse Trading) for a long time—both in business and beyond. DHT is built on transparency and strong communication with both buyers and sellers. That aligns perfectly with how we work at Brink Stables, which is why we're proud to be part of the team."
Brink Stables has produced and sold several remarkable horses over the years. La Rouge JT, for example, was bought in one of the auctions of Dutch Horse Trading three years ago and is now successfully competing at the 1.40m/1.45m level with Dennis. Notable horses sold via Brink Stables include international top horses Authentic (with Beezie Madden) and Ace (ridden by Stefanie van den Brink and Alison Firestone).
